Amsterdam

Our twelve hour lay-over in Amsterdam allowed us to see some sights. The Ann Frank House is crowded between a row of other buildings and was used as a Jewish hiding place for many years during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Anne Frank's diary has been published in 55 languages.

More information about Anne Frank can be found at: http://www.annefrank.com/

Canals run throughout the city. Sightseeing boats are available that take tourists by many of the cities art museums, churches, historic buildings, and other landmarks.

The trainstation is one of the many historical buildings that can be seen in Amsterdam. The trainstation is still in use. It is about a 20 minute ride from the airport to the Amsterdam station.
